Aging Studies Associate Professor to Consult in Slovenia

Debra Dobbs, PhD, received funding from the Republic of Slovenia for a Cooperative International grant as a partner with researchers from the Mediterranean Institute For Advanced Studies (MEDIFAS), housed in the Primorska Technology Park on the border between Slovenia and Italy. The Principal Investigator from MEDIFAS from Slovenia is Dr. Marija Bogataj, Professor of Operations of Research and Statistics at the University of Ljubljana, and a founding member of MEDIFAS. Dr. Dobbs will be traveling to Portoroz, Slovenia this month to present some of her research to the scientific community and consult on the project. The objective of this project is to introduce the model for planning of long-term care services and housing for older adults in Slovenia, based on a multiple decrement model.

President Genshaft announced the relaunch of the Suit-A-Bull program here at USF. Conceived and operated by the student organization, Enactus at USF, Suit-A-Bull provides business professional attire to USF students for use at interviews, career fairs, and other job related functions at no charge.

For many years, this program operated out of closets, the second floor of the old bookstore, and even the garage at Lifsey House. This past year, a new, permanent home was built on the second floor of the Student Services Building.

This past week they announced the Deans and Vice Presidents Challenge. The Challenge is a unique way for our college to get involved in helping secure additional women's and men's clothing for Suit-A-Bull's rental inventory. For each article of clothing we collect, we will earn points. At the end of the Challenge, the points will be tallied and a winner will be announced.

The Challenge has just kicked off and will run through this Friday, September 11, 2015. See the flyer for more details on what clothing will be accepted. If you would like to participate, please drop off your donations in the Dean's Office.
