 Celia Lescano, PhD, and her previous Brown colleagues, Dr. Elizabeth McQuaid and Dr. Daphne Koinis-Mitchell, co-edited a Special Issue for JPP that focused on cutting-edge studies and innovative approaches to understanding issues related to recruitment and retention of diverse populations into research studies, as well as methodological issues in diverse populations. The call for papers indicated a particular focus on race and ethnicity, poverty status, education level, gender, disability, religion, immigration status, and sexual orientation, and how these factors relate to pediatric health outcomes. The Special Issue (May 2016, Vol. 41, No. 4) has 11 articles with a focus on a variety of topics, including adherence, quality of life, health literacy, and integrated care in diverse populations of children with food allergies, sickle cell disease, HIV, and obesity. The Journal of Pediatric Psychology (http://jpepsy.oxfordjournals.org/), the flagship journal of Division 54 (Society of Pediatric Psychology) of the American Psychological Association, has a 5-year Impact Factor of 3.38. Dr. Lescano, a long-time member of the JPP Editorial Board, will also be the Division's President in 2017. |

 Stacy Kratz, a PhD student, received the University of Southern California Jane Addams Faculty Award. This award recognizes "a faculty member whom graduating students have nominated for recipient's academic, administrative and moral support of students." Stacy Kratz is the first faculty member in the USC Virtual Academic Center (VAC) to receive this award.

 Congratulations to Adrian N.S. Badana, a doctoral student from the School of Aging Studies, who was chosen by the USF Office of Graduate Studies as a recipient of the competitive Graduate Student Success Fellowship. The award will support Adrian for three years. He currently works with Dr. William E. Haley and Dr. Kathryn Hyer in the School of Aging Studies and is contributing to the Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program through USF Health. Adrian's research interest is care-giver access to and utilization of support services.
