SAS Faculty Appointed Next Editor-in-Chief of HHCSQ

Hongdao Meng, MPH, PhD, was selected to be the next Editor-in-Chief of Home Health Care Services Quarterly (HHCSQ), published by Taylor & Francis, a major international publisher of books and academic journals. His appointment was based on demonstrated scholarly expertise and leadership in the field of home and community-based care. His responsibilities will include directing the publication of high-quality scholarly work, providing leadership regarding the journals' future direction, contributing content (i.e., articles, editorials), and promoting the reputation and academic success of the journal. Home Health Care Services Quarterly, published since 1979, is the first peer-reviewed journal dedicated to publishing high quality research that address key issues in home and community-based care. Edited by a highly respected team, HHCSQ is committed to the advancement of multidisciplinary research, practice, and policy in health care across the care continuum of acute, post-acute, and long-term care settings. Aimed towards health/social services providers, administrators, researchers, policymakers, and industry partners, the journal publishes cutting-edge research by leading scholars and practitioners on such topics related to innovations in service provision, care management, quality improvement, financing and delivery, as well as the evaluation of such innovations.

Social Work Faculty Present Research at National Conference

Four School of Social Work faculty, a recent doctoral graduate and a current MSW student presented their research at the 21st Annual Society for Social Work and Research National Conference in New Orleans. The research presented at the conference helps inform evidenced-based practice which leads to an increase in the well-being and ability of the individuals, families and communities that are served by multiple professions to thrive.

ABA Program Receives Full Accreditation

The Behavior Analysis Accreditation Board (BAAB) of the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI) renewed the University of South Florida's M.A. in Applied Behavior Analysis program's full accreditation for five years. Congratulations to our ABA Program for a successful accreditation review.

Criminology Workshop and Research Series

The Department of Criminology extends an invitation to all CBCS faculty and staff to attend two upcoming events. The first is a workshop on Time-Series Analysis conducted by Dr. Mitch Chamlin, scheduled for January 26th from 20in in SOC 351. The second is his research presentation on causality to be given on January 27th at 10am in SOC 351. All are invited to attend both or either of these events.

Robert Weech-Maldonado to Speak as Part of the Distinguished Lectureship in Aging

Robert Weech-Maldonado, MBA, PhD, will present "Under-resourced Nursing Homes: Differentiating between High and Low Performers" at 10:30am on Friday, January 27, 2017 in the USF College of Public Health Auditorium 1023B. Dr. Robert Weech-Maldonado is Professor and L.R. Jordan Endowed Chair in the Department of Health Services Administration at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Currently, he is Co-Director of the Center for Health Organization and Transformation (CHOT) funded by NSF, Analysis Core Director of the UAB Resource Center on Minority Aging Research (RCMAR), and Co-Director of the Research Program for the Minority Health Research Center (MHRC). He is also Senior Scientist of the UAB's Center for Outcomes and Effectiveness Research and Education and the Center for Comprehensive Healthy Aging. Dr. Weech-Maldonado's research interests include examining the organizational, management, and community factors associated with higher quality and financial performance among nursing homes.
