In case you missed the Fall Faculty Assembly last Friday, the Dean's strategic planning and budget presentation is on the website. Click here. The Dean will be meeting with units in the coming weeks to further discuss the strategic planning initiatives and college budget.

CBCS Faculty Member Testifies Before U.S. Senate 
Kathryn Hyer, PhD, MPP, FGSA, testified before the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging for improved protocol regarding nursing home and assisted living communities in times of disasters. After experiencing Hurricane Irma, Hyer has used recent media mentions to discuss the need for policy change and the dangers of evacuation for these communities. Hyer continued this conversation with lawmakers on a national level. 

Dr. William Kearns (CFS), Dr. James L. Fozard (SAS) and Dr. Victor Molinari (SAS) are among a team who has secured funding from the National Institute on Aging to create a monitoring system for electric powered wheelchair (EPW) operators with or at risk of developing Alzheimer's disease (AD) and cognitive impairments.

Now Accepting Applicants for Spring 2018
Applications are now being accepted for Spring 2018 for the fully-online Master of Science Degree in Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health (MSCABH) at the University of South Florida in Tampa.

Call for Proposals Now Open for the 31st Annual Research & Policy Conference on Child, Adolescent, and Young Adult Behavioral Health, scheduled March 4-7, 2018 and hosted by the Department of Child & Family Studies. Submission deadline is October 27th

CBCS is once again working hard to defend our title as Best Decorated during the upcoming Homecoming week. But we need your help! If you can loan the decorating committee any of the following, please contact Elizabeth Correia in HR or bring your items to HR. Please, only USF-branded or generic items:
 
  •  anything football/sports related 
    • footballs, shoulder pads, helmets, soccer balls, tennis rackets, etc.
  • anything tailgate related
    • cornhole, chairs, tents, etc.
  • any other USF props/items
 
Please be sure to put your name on your donated items so they can be returned after the contest.
