Our college is committed to advancing well-being through an emphasis on community science and effective systems and policies with a variety of external partnerships.  Now we are taking steps to create a culture of wellness and health within our place of work.
 
Our purpose: to create an environment that will promote employee well-being, engage employees in planning for and participation in activities that support physical and mental wellness.

Please accept our invitation to join the crew as we launch an initiative to promote the well-being of CBCS faculty and staff.  Your level of involvement can be whatever you choose - anything from reading our newsletter (see below) to participating in one of our monthly challenges to organizing an event.  If you'd like to be part of the planning committee, we meeting the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 10AM in MHC 1123.

School of Social Work Faculty Member Joins Journal of Palliative Medicine
Iraida V. Carrion, PhD, LCSW, Associate professor in the School of Social Work, was invited and will become a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Palliative Medicine (JPM). It is the premier peer-reviewed journal covering medical, psychosocial, policy, and legal issues in end-of-life care and relief of suffering for patients with intractable pain. The JPM journal presents essential information for professionals in hospice/palliative medicine, focusing on improving quality of life for patients and their families,and the latest developments in drug and non-drug treatments. She will serve as reviewer for manuscript submissions, contribute editorial articles and in an advisory role for the continued success of the journal. Dr. Carrion also serves on the editorial boards of Health and Social Work and the American Journal of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
