MPH Student Presents at USF Health Research Day
Evan Hegarty, an MPH student in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the College of Public Health, was selected to deliver an oral presentation at the USF Health Research Day on Friday, February 28th. The presentation, Mediator/Moderator Analysis of Latino STYLE: Parent-Child Communication and Other Factors Influencing the Efficacy of a Randomized, Controlled Trial of an Adolescent HIV Intervention, was based on his MPH Special Project, supervised by Celia Lescano, Wei Wang, and Humberto Lopez Castillo. In addition, his poster presentation, based on this same work, was selected as one of the 10 best posters among the more than 70 posters presented by COPH undergraduate and graduate students and post-docs. Mr. Hegarty has completed his Field Experience and Special Project in the Department of Mental Health Law and Policy and is currently working on an Independent Study to analyze more data, using survival curve analyses, related to Dr. Lescano's NIMH-funded R01 study, A Randomized Controlled Trial of Family-based HIV Prevention for Latino Youth (MH R01 087232).

23rd Annual WUSF/CBCS Spring Membership Challenge
March 23, 6 am-9 am

To participate in the challenge, you need to donate to WUSF. The easiest way to accomplish this is via the Faculty/Staff campaign  donation site. At present, 35% of us have made a donation to the Faculty & Staff Campaign. That's wonderful, but to reach our goal, an additional 10% of you need to donate. Every dollar you give gets us closer to achieving this important objective.

The fund number for WUSF is 380001. You may also donate via check, but remember - when you donate to WUSF, email rlbrown@bcs.usf.edu with the dollar amount (if your donation is made via payroll deduction or you're a sustaining member, please provide the annual dollar amount). If you're already a sustaining member, just email the annual amount you contribute. Last year, we raised a record $4,800 for the station, so Iet's aim to make it an even $5,000 this year!

For those of you that donate, there will be a tour of the station for Monday, March 12th at 1:00. The Sarasota Opera will be in the studio for a live performance - which is an amazing opportunity! If you'd like to go on the tour, please email rlbrown@bcs.usf.edu and she will add you to the list.
