Dr. Annette Christy Receives Law Enforcement and Behavioral Health Partnerships for Early Diversion Grant
Congratulations to Dr. Annette Christy of the Department of Mental Health Law and Policy on receipt of the Law Enforcement and Behavioral Health Partnerships for Early Diversion Grant. Christy's proposal, which was crafted and submitted in less than a week, was based on her previous work with Hillsborough County and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration in previous years. Robert Parkinson, the Criminal Justice Liaison for Hillsborough County, stated in the award email: "This grant submission was based on Dr. Annette Christy's (USF) analysis that indicated that jail diversion participants (JDP-PIP) who received more intensive risk/need based services and interventions, over a longer period of time, were experiencing better outcomes." Under this grant, USF will receive $330,000 per year for up to five years for a total of $1.65 Million.
