CARD-USF Recognized at Mayor's Award Luncheon 
The Center for Autism and Related Disabilities at the University of South Florida (CARD-USF) and their innovative project, the Autism Friendly Business Initiative, was nominated for the Joe Sanchez, Jr. Leadership Award at the 2018 Mayor's Alliance for Persons with Disabilities Award Luncheon. The award recognizes outstanding achievement in the increase of integration of people with disabilities into public and private programs, services, events and facilities.

CFS's Making Connections Team Raising Funds and Awareness for Men's Mental Health
The entire Making Connections Evaluation team from the USF College of Behavioral and Community Sciences and CFS have committed to walk 60 miles in recognition of the Movember Foundation/Making Connections' focus on men's health. While doing so, they hope to raise $600 dollars for the Foundation, which encourages running or walking 60 miles to recognize the 60 men lost to suicide each hour, every hour. Read more here.
Dr. Trina Spencer Trains Specialists to Work with Children with Autism in Minsk, Belarus
CFS's Dr. Trina Spencer, from the USF Rightpath Research and Innovation Center, recently traveled to Minsk, Belarus as part of a humanitarian group to 
help build capacity of Belarusians to work with young children with autism. A behavior analyst with expertise in language develop was specifically requested to teach their specialists. While there, Dr. Spencer lectured at the university for two days and spent three days working directly with 20 specialists in preschools. She also conducted question-answer sessions with families of children with autism and visited school and clinic sites across the city. Read more here.

Dr. Nev Jones invited to join the national SAMHSA BRSS TACS steering committee
Dr. Jones of MHLP will be joining the national steering committee of SAMHSA's Bringing Recovery Supports to Scale Technical Assistance Center Strategy (BRSS TACS).  BRSS TACS provides support and technical assistance for state and regional recovery-oriented systems work throughout the US.

Congratulations to Dr. Rose Iovannone 
Dr. Rose Iovannone was invited to be a Keynote Speaker at the Asia Positive Behavior Support conference in Hong Kong on January 12, 2019 as well as at the Queensland Positive Behavior for Learning Conference in Brisbane from June 24 - June 26, 2019. Dr. Iovannone was also invited to present a full-day workshop at Beijing Normal University on January 14, 2019.
