Improving Lives of Indigenous People

Powered by the simple belief that knowledge works best when shared, the Indigenous Studies Field School for Global Exchange in Arunachal Pradesh was set up to foster cultural resource knowledge and field research skills to enable students from the University of South Florida (USF) and Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) to study the health status of indigenous people. The groundwork for the school was established when a group of 16 students from the University of South Florida's School of Social Work, led by Manisha Joshi and Iraida V. Carrion, associate professors at the School of Social Work, went to Arunachal Pradesh for a project on the health status of its indigenous people. Full story...

 

Dr. Hall to Speak as Part of the 2018-19 Distinguished Lectureship in Aging

Martica H. Hall, PhD, will present "Sleep as a Pillar of Health Aging" on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 10:30am in USF College of Public Health Auditorium, 1023C. Dr. is Co-Director of the University of Pittsburgh Center for Sleep and Circadian Science and its Translational Research Training in Sleep Medicine Program. Her research focuses on the pathways through which psychological and social factors affect sleep and their downstream consequences to health and functioning, with an emphasis on cardiometabolic disease risk.

Feed-A-Bull Drive 2018

Thank you to everyone who generously donated to the CBCS Feed-A-Bull Drive to help our students. We collected 6 large boxes full of goods that were delivered to the Feed-A-Bull pantry before the holidays.

Tuesdays 12:30pm-4:45pm
Wednesdays 8am-6pm
Thursdays 8am-6pm
Fridays 8am-5pm

The computer lab is available to all CBCS students for course related work. The computers are equipped with Microsoft Office, SAS and SPSS. Printing is available through pay for print.
