USF Pandemic Response Research Grantees Accepted to I-Corps

Jerome Galea, PhD, MSW (SW), Kristin Kosyluk, PhD (MHLP) and MSW student Tanner Baeder were accepted into the Fall 2020 I-Corps cohort. Kosyluk and Galea were recently awarded funding from the USF Pandemic Research Response Network to develop a chatbot to screen and link COVID-19 responders to mental health resources and services. As I-Corps Fellows, they will gain the knowledge and skills to potentially move a successful chatbot beyond the lab and into the commercial marketplace.

SW Instructor Makes Virtual Presentation

Kerry Littlewood, PhD, MSW, and her colleagues, Teresa Ward, Michelle Rosenthal, Abhishek Pandey presented "National Grandfamilies and COVID 19 Study: Self-Care and Social Support Needs" (virtually, pre-recorded) at the 2020 State of the Science Congress on Nursing Research on Friday, September 18, 2020.

Social Connections During COVID-19

Kristin Kosyluk, PhD, CRC, lead a USF Health Virtual Program discussion about Building & Maintaining Social Connection During COVID-19. The conversation focused on fostering connections while learning remotely, addressing feelings of loneliness, and reducing stigma of mental health. New Program Name

The Florida Medicaid Drug Therapy Management Program for Behavioral Health (MDTMP) has a new name: The Florida Center for Behavioral Health Improvement and Solutions. The updated website with current psychotherapeutic medication guidelines and other resources and tools is http://floridabhcenter.org.

As part of National Recovery Month in September, RMHC will share videos, stories, and resources on Facebook and Instagram @USFRMHC revolving around the theme that RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE. Join FMHC faculty Drs. Buckles and DePippo on September 24 at noon as they lead a free webinar, "Trauma and Addictions: What is the Connection and How do We Treat it?"
