CBCS Doctoral Defense
Joshua Barnett successfully defended his dissertation at a widely attended public defense. His dissertation was entitled: Informing Indigent Health Care Service Programs Within a Local Government Context: Strategies for Population-based Service Planning, Assessment, and Policy Development. He is the fourth graduate of the Behavioral & Community Sciences PhD program. As a result of his dissertation research, he have been invited to serve on the Florida Department of Health's Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) data review and planning committee and collaborate with the Florida Association of Counties and its Health, Safety & Justice policy subcommittee. He will also continue in his roles as a Behavioral Health Data Scientist for the Human Services Department of Pinellas County Government, Adjunct Professor of Health Services Administration and Public Health at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Mental Health Law and Policy at the University of South Florida.
