coffee break with card logoCARD-USF is proud to announce its new weekly Facebook LIVE show "Coffee Break with CARD." In response to our English-speaking audience's request, our popular weekly show "La Hora del Cafecito" has a new "sister" program: "Coffee Break" with CARD". Both shows are programs dedicated to disseminating information related to topics that are of importance to those in our community who are living with autism, their family members and those who support them. "La Hora del Cafecito" has been going LIVE through CARD-USF's private Facebook group called "Grupo CARD Espanol" every Friday at 10:00 AM since February 2020. This show was featured in the Tampa Bay Times and in USF's College of Education. "Coffee Break with CARD" debuted on September 3rd, 2021 on CARD-USF's main Facebook page, and the program is already getting great reviews and shares.

Jennifer Tran Presents at Active Minds Emerging Scholars
jennifer tran holding ames awardJennifer T. Tran, MEd presented at the final Active Minds Emerging Scholars presentation to the Scattergood Foundation on her 6-month long project. Ms. Tran's project focused on the qualitative thematic analysis of secondary video data exploring the experiences and understanding how individuals at various intersections of marginalized communities tell their story of challenges and recovery. The final product is a web-based resource for intersectional stories of mental health (i.e., individuals that identify as BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and/or a College Student living with a mental health condition). This web-based resource will aid as a stigma change tool and provide examples and representation of intersectional storytellers living with mental illness. A visit to the online resource will provide a clinician with a story of hope to share with their client who identifies as BIPOC, LGBTQ+, or both; educators might use the catalogue to teach behavioral healthcare students about the experiences of those who occupy multiple marginalized identities; and individuals living with mental illness may be able to find individuals they identify with going through similar experiences.
